Longville Area Food Shelf is excited to announce the expansion of services. In order to accomplish this, the actual food shelf space will be transitioning into the sales area of the Tossed & Found building. The existing kitchen area in the current building is a natural space to provide nutrition education, cooking classes and canning & food preservation instruction. Space will be available for Adult Basic Education (ABE/GED) to host classes, financial literacy classes as well as a public meeting room for local organizations to utilize.
In order to accomplish this, Tossed & Found Boutique, which has always been cramped for space, will be purchasing Ron's Hardware in the heart of downtown Longville. The ample space of this building will provide a more welcoming shopping experience for the customers as well as a more convenient work environment for the dedicated volunteers.
We never anticipated the overwhelming success of the current store or that the current space for the store would be insufficient. The community support with donations, purchases and volunteering is incredible and allows us to continue our mission which is to support all overhead expenses of the Longville Area Food Shelf. As in the past we continue to rely on the generosity of the community for dollar and food donations for the many clients that experience food insecurity and hunger.[[In-content Ad]]
