Leslie grew up in the Des Moines area, graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1964 and the University of Kansas in 1970. She was a Certified Public Accountant, and began her career at Arthur Andersen & Co. She transitioned from accounting into sales management while at Avon Products for 19 years; and was later Vice President of Sales for Jaffra Cosmetics and Beauty Group International. Her professional opportunities took her to Kansas City, New York City, Cincinnati, Pasadena and Boca Raton. She and her husband, John Hamman, have owned and operated TARRAH Cosmetics, which markets skin care and wellness products since 2000. Leslie was on the Board of Directors of the national Direct Selling Association.
In addition to their business, Leslie's full and active life with her husband included travel with her family and friends, golf, reading, wine tasting and frequent visits to her daughters' families and her parents. Her favorite getaway was the family home at Woman Lake, Minnesota, where she spent time each summer with her parents, her daughters, and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Hamman of Boca Raton, FL; her parents, Robert and Janet Timmins of Ocala, FL; her daughter, Shannon and husband David Heupel of Chanhassen, MN and their children Owen, Ella and Lydia; her daughter, Kelsey Brandt and Zachary Hancey of Salt Lake City, UT and their children Sage and Calista; her sister, Sydney Timmins Coder of Urbandale; nieces, Melissa and husband Eric Dobbins of Cedar Rapids and Laura and husband Buck Olsen of Urbandale, and six great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, March 12 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Beaverdale, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Leslie's memory to The Immune Therapy Initiative for Ovarian Cancer or Hands and Hearts Across the Atlantic, both of which Leslie supported in honor of dear friends.
Arrangements by Iles Funeral Homes.
