Lee was welcomed into the world on April 3rd, 1951 by his parents, Maude & Herman, in Grand Rapids, MN. He was raised in Remer, MN, where he had attended and graduated from Remer High School in 1969. He had a passion for hunting, trapping, fishing, camping, canoeing, and spending time in the great outdoors.

Throughout the years, Lee worked as a carpenter, building many cabins and homes, by doing what he loved. His colorful personality, quality work, and strong character made him a very enjoyable and memorable man.

Though Lee enjoyed a great variety of things, his greatest passion and talent was being a father to his daughter Scarlet, and his son, Drew.

In 2007, Lee was diagnosed with Folicular lymphoma. He underwent rigorous chemotherapy and radiation treatment at Fairview Hospital, in Hibbing, MN. He continued to receive regular chemotherapy treatment throughout the following years, and continued to work as a carpenter while doing so.

In 2012, Lee suffered a stroke, and was treated at St. Mary's in Duluth. After he was finally able to return home, he continued receiving regular chemotherapy treatments. Though Lee had faced many, many obstacles, he continued to persevere, and surpass expectations.

Following a hip replacement surgery in 2015, Lee again underwent rigorous chemotherapy treatment. After several months, It was determined that his cancer had become resistant to the chemotherapy treatments. After 8 years of receiving regular chemo therapy, facing many challenges, and overcoming numerous obstacles, the Lord finally called him home to rest.

Lee peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening, December 16th, surrounded by his children, and the love from all of his family and friends.

He is welcomed home by his father Herman, sister Erma, maternal & paternal grandparents, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He is survived by, and greatly missed, by his children, Scarlet (Bryan) Bennett, and Drew Wilberg, his two grandchildren, his wife Shannon, mother Maude, siblings Randy, Karleen, Rick & Steve, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service for Lee will take place on Wednesday, December 30th at 1:00 p.m., at Salem Lutheran Church, in Longville, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorial are preferred. They may be sent to Kylar Glen, PO Box 5093, Grand Rapids MN 55744.[[In-content Ad]]
