Lawrence Walter Bialke

Larry was born September 5, 1916 in Benton County, Minnesota, the son of Antony and Mary (Wojlonski) Bialke. Larry was the eldest of 11 siblings. He attended rural school in Benton County. He married Christine (Tina) Jedlicki and they lived in Minneapolis where Larry worked as a baker. He bought his first business in 1946, a bakery in Norwood, Minnesota. In 1948 he bought a restaurant in Garrison, Minnesota and then with Tina and his 3 sons bought Sleepy Hollow near Whipholt. The Bialke family operated the restaurant until 1969. Larry then followed his true passion, fishing, and guided out of many resorts on the south shore of Leech Lake. Larry enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, playing cards, saying the rosary and enjoying life. His sense of humor will be missed by all that knew and came in contact with him.
Larry was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Longville for many years and more recently has been a member of St. Agnes/Sacred Heart in Walker and Hackensack. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus in Longville and Walker/Hackensack.
Larry is survived by sons; Jerry (Rolla) of Walker, Dick (Jan) of Remer, and Ron (Deb) of Brainerd, 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and one brother Clarence of Foley, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Tina, and nine siblings.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Walker. There will be a gathering for family and friends one hour prior to the service.
