He was born in Howard Co. Iowa to Howard E. & Ruth (Hendrickson) Knight. They lived in the LeRoy area until 1957 when they moved "Up North" to Remer, where Butch graduated in 1957. He joined the U.S. Navy serving in California most of the time. He married Mary Jean Seese and they had 3 children Kathryn, Steven and Kristine. They were later divorced. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kathryn, 3 brothers Keith, Howard Jr. and Leon, one grandson, Andrew.
In 1990 he married Marilyn Nothnagel and they had a business in Hill City, South Dakota and spent winters on the Gulf of Mexico on Yucatan Peninsula. They traveled to Russia, Costa Rica, Australia and Hawaii.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn, children Steven and Kristine, twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. His Aunt Ruthann (Dick) King of Walker, Uncle Harland (Pauline) of Winona and his sister Sandra Rae (Fernando) Morales of Jacksonville, FL.
They spent 15 summers fishing on Leech Lake and Lake of the Woods and then they moved to Rock Port, Texas where he could fish his beloved Gulf of Mexico, where his ashes will be placed November 10. Blessed be his memory.[[In-content Ad]]
