Larene Anderson
b. April 11, 1926-Feb. 22, 2011
LaRene was born April 11, 1926, in Winnebago, the daughter of Orren and Rena (Bales) Faribanks. She was raised and educated in Huntley where she was a 1944 graduate of Huntley High School. She attended cosmotology school in Alber Lea before her marriage to Carlisle "Curly" Anderson on February 22, 1947 in Winnebago. The couple farmed in Rake, Iowa for two years before moving to Huntley in 1949 where Curly owned a service station and bulk oil business and Larene was the postmistress in Huntley for several years before her retirement in 1991.
Larene was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago where she was very active in her church circle. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards with friends, family and card groups in Winnebago and Delavan. She also loved fishing at Iguadona Lake and attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's school and sporting events.
Larene is survived by her daughter, Barb Martin of Rochester; her son, Larry (Sheri) Anderson of Glencoe; six grandchildren: Corey (Marsha), Eric (Amy) & Brenda (Jay) Martin, Tricia (Randy) Shindelar, Chad (Shannon) & Michael (Erin) Anderson, 10 great-grandchildren: Jeff, Chris, Brandon, Dylan, Mathew, Breana & Brook Martin, Makenzie & Morgan Shindelar, Hadyn Anderson; and one step-great-granddaughter, Katelyn Hicks
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Curly in 1996.[[In-content Ad]]
