The Lady Eagles of Northland showed their ability to play as a team at the Hill City Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 22, when they lost in a close match with Isle, then countered with a win over Indus.

Monday, Sept. 24, the Lady Eagles took on Blackduck, coming out on top in a five set nail-biter, 14-25; 25-19; 25-18; 17-25; and 15-12.

"Lizzy Procopio was a beast with 10 kills, 10 good serves, 1 ace and 31 good sets with 4 assists. Brienna Zoch played outstanding at the net with 7 blocks and 6 kills. Alexa Sjoblom and Denyl Dugan were great on defence. The home court advantage with our fans and band, shows Northland school spirit is on fire," said Coach Carol Procopio.

On the road to Northhome, Tuesday, the Lady Eagles grabbed the win in three. Lizzy Procopio and Brienna Zoch both had 5 kills at the net. As a team, the Lady Eagles had 13 aces and served 89 percent. The team was 4-7 going into tournament play over the weekend.[[In-content Ad]]
