Lady Eagles struggle with the handle

The Lady Eagles put points on the board, but turnovers continue to plague the offense. Last Monday was no exception as the girls traveled to Nevis. Despite a solid second half, the first half the girls allowed the Tigers 44 points, a deficit that they could not overcome and ended the night with a 60-46 loss.

"We really need to put two half's together. More than half of our losses this season can be pinned down to simple inconsistency," commented Head Coach Jenny Kovall.

Abby Burch continues to set the bar on offense with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 take-away's on defense. Lizzie Procopio added nine points and a dozen boards to the girls efforts.

Thursday found the girls on the road to Floodwood. The Lady Eagles jumped out to an early lead, but found the handle hard to hold and turnovers told the tale of the tape at the end falling to the Polar Bears 75-66.

There's no question these girls are working hard, if we want to win games, we have to protect the ball much better," said Coach Kovall.

Offense was up for this game with Burch leading the way with 26 points and 12 boards. Chloe Wolske stepped up with 15 points and an impressive seven steals on defense. Angie Rajdl put up a dozen points and came down with three boards and take-aways. Procopio chipped in eight points and 10 rebounds.

The girls next travel to Greenway on Valentine's Day and Saturday is at Pillager. Varsity tip-off is 7:15 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
