Lady Eagles post-season ends with loss to Onamia

The Lady Eagles hit the first round of playoffs last Monday as they faced non-conference foe Onamia. Despite a double-digit lead in the first half, the girls were unable to hang in to the final buzzer and fell 41-44.

"This was a tough loss, we played very well at times, leading by 10 the first half, then we went ice cold on our shooting in the second half," commented Coach Jenny Kovall.[[In-content Ad]]Tori Howard led the ladies on offense with 14 points, followed by Abby Burch with nine points and six rebounds. Sierra Likens, playing in her last high school game carded eight points with four boards and five steals. Brittney Nornberg added five points and brought down three rebounds.

"It was nice to have another home game with great fan support. The girls played hard to the end but unfortunately came up short. I'm proud of the girls for their effort, it was a very up and down season, but they stuck with it and showed a lot of improvement, my hope is for the younger players to continue to improve in the off-season and come back stronger next year.

I will miss my seniors, they are a sweet group of girls and I wish you all the best in all that is ahead of you!" Concluded Coach Kovall.

The Lady Eagles ended the '10-'11 season with a 7-3 conference record and co-conference runners -up with Bigfork.
