Lady Eagles ousted by Bulldogs

The Eagle Volleyball team succumbed to the Carlton Bulldogs in the second round of Section 7A volleyball action 3-0.

After a thrilling upset of the seventh seeded Silver Bay team 3-1, in the opening round on Monday October 20, the tenth seeded Eagles were rewarded with a match against the second seeded and 12th rated team in the state. There would be no upset against the Bulldogs as they controlled all three games in the match.

The Eagles season ended with a record of 5-21, but with a young squad that gained experience and some confidence through the season, next season should reap the benefits of the learning that was done this year. With only one Senior, Mckenna Shepard, not coming back next season hopes are high for a much improved record.

As the only senior, Shepard, will be missed for her great digs and passing ability as well as her Senior leadership. The Eagles will return six Juniors- Kristina Harder, Allison Mitlying, Kaitlyn Zoch, Sydonia Yonkovich, Alexis Greene and Cortney Dickinson. Four Sophomores- Rainy Campbell, Dakota Carstens, Kristin Johnson, Kali Wake and Freshman Lauren Tschida.

The girls provided some exciting play throughout the season and appreciate all the support from their fans, parents and staff this year.

Head Coach Carol Procopio and Assistant Scarlet Bennett are both excited by the effort put forth by the entire squad this season and cannot wait for next year!
