Lady Eagles Lose Thriller to Huskies

The last regular season game of the season provided plenty of excitement as the Eagles hosted the Bigfork Huskies. A back and forth five setter had players and fans riding each momentum swing throughout the course of the evening.

The excitement of Parents/Senior Night carried over for the girls as they came out strong and took the first set. The Huskies would not back down and took the next two sets for a 2-1 lead. The fourth set started with the Huskies jumping out to a big lead before the Eagles would settle down and come back and even the sets at 2-2 heading into the final set.

Again back and forth the action went as one team would score and the other gaining the next point. With the final set only going to 15 it was crucial to make every point count. Knotted at 8-8, the Huskies server was able to get a run of excellent serves in and gain some separation for the 15-10 final score and take the match for the visitors.

The Eagles have been playing much better the second half of the season and are looking forward to their first playoff game on Monday October 20, at Silver Bay. With a victory they would then play again on Wednesday, October 22 in Carlton versus the second seeded Bulldogs. Both games start at 7 p.m.

Coach Procopio after the game still had a smile on her face, "So close, so close". She is also very proud of the girls season, as before the game commented, "The wins and losses are not where we wanted to be but we are a young team and have improved so much over the course of the season."
