The 2014-15 basketball season came to an end on March 2 as the girls looked for redemption against the Nevis Tigers, who had topped the Eagles by 10 in a Feb. 7 match-up at the Target Center. Early foul trouble put Keyana Gross on the bench for most of the first half and the girls would come up a bucket short at the final buzzer 71-73.

"We played a much better game than we played against them at the Target Center. We simply had too many turnovers this time, which is surprising because we've been taking good care of the ball this year. We stayed with them, taking the lead at a couple different points, and battled right to the end - that's all I can ask," commented Head Coach Jenny Kovall.

The girls put three players in double figures offensively with Kristine Johnson leading the way with 20 points and six steals, followed by Kali Wake with 19 points, nine boards and four assists. Chloe Wolske added 16 points and three steals. Gross, forced to sit for 14 minutes, offered eight points and six boards.

"We have a nice group of young talent coming up the next few years. It should be exciting to watch them develop as players." Said Coach Kovall.

"I'd like to wish my seniors the best, they've really been a fun couple of kids to coach over the years. Congratulations to Chloe on her accomplishments, 1000 points and also second place in single season scoring with 541 points, just behind Kayla Heisler's 600 points. Also, congratulations to Kristine Johnson, beating her own single season steal record and now holds the second and third place slots, knocking off #5 Kaylee Bandemer (2002-03). She racked up 141 last year and 177 this year. Our JV and Jr. High teams both ended the season with winning records this year, we're really proud of their improvement." Concluded Coach Kovall.[[In-content Ad]]
