Lady Eagles fall to Chisholm; break through in Greenway

The Lady Eagles have been close enough to victory to taste its sweetness, but occasional poor shooting and turnovers have let wins stay elusive. Tuesday had the girls on the road to Chisholm for a non conference matchup. A more experienced Bluestreak team was able to take advantage of miscues and top the Lady Eagles by 10; 40-50.

Chloe Wolske led the offense with 15 points followed by Kali Wake with 14 points and 10 boards while Kristine Johnson added nine. Makendra Anderson brought down 11 off the glass.

"We are a young team and improve from game to game, our defense has kept us in most games," commented Coach Jenny Kovall.

The girls could feel that a "w" was just a matter of putting their skills to use over the entire game and that is just what happened in Greenway. Wolske had a break-out game on offense notching 27 points in leading the Lady Eagles to their first win of the season 51-47 over the Raiders.

"We were outsized big-time, but we played scrappy defense that kept the Raiders at bey," said Coach Kovall.

Along with Wolske's 27, Angie Rajdl added eight and brought down 11 rebounds. Johnson put in seven points to go with an impressive 13 steals.

The JV team upped their record to 7-2 thanks to Madi Shepard's 30 points, including five 3-pointers, up against the Raider JV

The Ladies host Bigfork on Thursday, then travel to Nashwauk-Keewatin on Monday.[[In-content Ad]]
