Lady Eagles drop two to close season
Monday the girls took on Park Rapids. Offensively the girls played a solid game, but came up a bit shy at the buzzer 61-65.
Burch led with 28 points and a dozen boards, Procopio led under the hoop with seven rebounds, Kristine Johnson added seven points and led the defense with seven steals.
"We played a pretty good game and handled their pressure well. We got off plenty of shots, but like so many times this season, we just didn't have the hot hand," commented Head Coach Jenny Kovall.
To end the season, the girls took on Pine River, an experienced team that did not treat them well in the earlier season. This game will not be the one the Lady Eagles look back on for inspiration.
"They are a very experienced team, it's unfortunate that we had to end the season with this kind of loss. I do see them going deep into the playoffs.
Fortunately, when the girls look back, they will remember the experience as a whole, I will miss my two seniors, it's been a pleasure coaching them and I wish them all the best. A special thank you to all my supportive parents and fans, I appreciate you all!" Concluded Coach Kovall.[[In-content Ad]]
