Lady Eagles down Spartans

The Northland Lady Eagles continue to amass valuable experience and the wins are starting to show for their hard work. The performance they brought to the court in Nashwauk was no exception, aggressive defense and improving shooters took its toll on the Spartans and the girls came away with their second conference win 57-47.

"We played nice scrappy defense as a team, it was fun to watch the hard work and effort pay off," said Head Coach Jenny Kovall.

Chloe Wolske continues to put together solid games and led the offense with 24 points and six rebounds with five take aways on defense. Kristine Johnson brought down seven boards to go with three points and 4 steals. Maddy Shepard put up a dozen points and came down with six boards. Kali Wake returned to the lineup and put in seven points, seven boards and six steals on defense. Keyana Gross added seven points and 6 rebounds.

"Foul trouble made things a little interesting coming down the stretch, but we played hard and the bench did a great job putting away another win against a conference opponent," concluded Kovall.

The girls travel to Kelliher/Northome Friday. Varsity tip-off is at 7:15 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
