Josephine M. Ammerman, age 86, of Remer, MN died on, September 13, 2012 at Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids, MN.

Josephine was born in 1926 to Chester & Ethel Sharbonda in Bovey, MN and grew up in Swatara, Cass Lake, and Remer. She was united in marriage to Clarence R. Ammerman in 1945 and they made their home in Remer. They also lived in various other parts of the United States. Josephine was a long-time member of the Northland Alliance Church in Remer and the Remer Arts & Crafts Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence, in 2000; one brother, Roy Sharbonda; one grandson, Chester Ammerman; and one great-grandson, Devin Lucas.

Josephine is survived by one daughter, Sandy Lucas, of Remer, MN; four sons, Robert (Diane) Ammerman, Sr., Remer, MN, Jerry (Phyllis) Ammerman of Akeley, MN, James Ammerman of Exeter, MO, and Tom Ammerman of Remer, MN; two sisters, Ruth Pederson, Fergus Falls, MN and Kay (Larry) Martinson, Cass Lake, MN; one brother, Lew Sharbonda, Remer, MN; and 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service on Monday, September 17th at the Northland Alliance Church in Remer, MN. Rev. William A. Ness will officiate.
