Joseph "Dodoz" Benjamin Campbell, 28, of Welch, MN, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 24, 2017, in Minneapolis. Dodoz was born in Red Wing on April 11, 1989, to Joseph B., Sr. and Lorina (Stone) Campbell. He attended school in Longview, MN and graduated from Bug-o-Nay-Ge-Shig High School in Bena, MN. Dodoz had many interests including SCUBA diving, playing the guitar, writing poetry, hunting, fishing, eating fancy food such as sushi, and was currently training for his airplane pilot's license. Most of all, Dodoz loved spending time with his children- who were his world.

Dodoz is loved and survived by his parents, Joseph Sr. and Lorina; children, Tristan Johnson, Mercede Campbell, and Roman Rushman; 8 siblings, George Thompson, Desiree Thompson, Jasmine (Matt) Baker, Bernadine Stone II, Danielle Campbell, Leslie (Victor Rodriquez) Campbell, Trinity Campbell, and Otherday Campbell; paternal grandparents, Jim and Carol Woodard, maternal grandfather, Trinidad (Rose) Gardea; special friends, Sheree Campbell-Johnson, Shy Rushman, and Bruce and Cara Dahl; his dog, Biscuit; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joseph Baldwin Campbell; maternal grandmother, Bernadine Stone; uncle, Lorin Lee Stone; and nephew Marquise Johnson.

A prayer service accompanied by drums began at 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 27th, at the Prairie Island Community Center. Family and friends were invited for wake beginning at 3 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday. A second wake service took place at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 28th, in Bena, MN. Burial was at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 30th, in Lorin Lee Stone Memorial/Lou Rock Cemetery, rural Federal Dam.
