John Martin Cook
b. Nov. 22, 1951 d. Oct. 20, 2018
John grew up in Remer, MN. He graduated from Northland High School in 1970. On Oct. 9, 1971 he married Shirley Hare. They just celebrated 47 year of marriage.
John spent his early years hunting, fishing and trapping in Northern Minnesota. He also developed a real talent for hunting antiques first in Minnesota, then later in Washington, Idaho, Missouri and Utah. He loved garage sales and auctions. October 20 started out doing what he loved, going to garage sales.
While in Remer, John hand carved ice fishing decoys that appeared in decoy reference books and on fish decoy posters.
John accepted Jesus as his Savior at a Billy Graham crusade. He loved reading his Bible.
John is survived by his wife Shirley, son Bob (Kellie) of Fairbanks, AK and Ogden, UT; daughters Melinda
of Fairbanks, AK; and Jayme (Sheldon) Eckman of Randall, MN. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Eva, Gage, Garrett, and Tucker.
He is preceeded in death by his parents Jim and Elsie Cook and an infant brother Patrick.
A graveside service was held in Remer on Nov. 3.[[In-content Ad]]
