John Jaye White, "Zhingwaak" which means "Tall White Pine" age 57, of Kego Lake, Minnesota journeyed to the spirit world on Sunday, July 21st, 2019. John was born on February 7th, 1962 in Cook, MN. He was born to Zora (Bird) and Donald White.

John, a "gentle giant" with an infectious smile and great sense of humor was a truly skilled outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish. He was a gifted woodworker and his craftsmanship showed in the birch bark mirrors, baskets and walking sticks he made. John loved his family and community equally. He was always looking out for everyone and like wise they looked out for him. John was a generous man who was always happy to see you and would call out your name to you. He was beyond proud of his kids and grandkids for many reasons and wasn't shy about letting you know it. John loved his music, often sporting his cowboy hat collection. He liked to play his Xbox was an avid collector of Mallard ducks of any kind. His smiling face will be missed by many.

Family that John is reunited with are his parents, Zora and Donald White; sister, Sharon White-St. John, niece, Heather Kingbird; nephew, Anthony Hare and best friend, Tom Mitchell.

He leaves behind his sons, Christopher White of Grand Forks, ND, Jonathon White of Polson, MT, Nicholas Littlewolf of Park Rapids, MN; daughter, Willow True of Federal Dam, MN, brothers, Robert (Kathy) White, Sr., Donald White and Calvin White; sisters, April (Guy) Greene, Louise White and Melody Engen, his significant other, Sandy Wange; 11 grandkids; several aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.

The wake for John will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25th and continue until his 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Saturday, July 27th all to be held at the Sugar Point Community Center in Federal Dam, MN. Waa-maajaa'iwed will be Steve Jackson. Pallbearers for John will be Robert White, Jr., Bobby Losh, Butch Burns, Jesse Greene, Robert White, Sr. Guy Greene and Levi Wind. His honorary pallbearers are all his grandkids and all his family and friends. At John's request, his cremains will be cherished by his family and then scattered at a later date.
