Joel R. Wild
b. January 19, 1973 - d. Oct. 15, 2010
Joel was grandson to Phyllis and Jack Wild of Longville and St. Paul, Minn.
Too young for carpentery, Joel acted as a junior supervisor during the building of his grandparents lake home. Joel inherited artisic talent, a keen touch for trout fishing, and his grandpa Jack's wry sense of humor. He enjoyed hunting duck and geese on Leech Lake with family. Joel was chosen for Tri-Metro All Conference hockey during his 1990-91 season in Mahtomedi.
Joel survived a near fatal car crash in 1995 that left him with a right brain injury and partial parallysis of his left side. With courage and determination Joel suceeded in learning to drive again and live independently in his own home with his beloved dog Cody. He loved his grandparents dearly and visited them often in Longville. His family was blessed with the extra 15 years we had with him following his accident and cherish every memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Joel is survived by brother his Jason (Lan) Wild; a nephew Michael; relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held in Stillwater, Minn., on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, followed by a private family interment.[[In-content Ad]]
