Jilene Hazel Myers, age 66, of Remer, MN, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Serenity Living Solutions in Remer, MN.

Jilene was born in 1952 to Hugh and Laurel Perkins in Dickinson, ND and grew up and attended school in Remer, MN. She graduated from Remer High School in 1970 and then continued her education at St. Luke's School of Nursing in Fargo, ND graduating with her Registered Nursing degree in 1982. Jilene was a nurse in Deer River, MN, Grand Rapids, MN and at Laurel Lodge in Remer, MN.

Jilene was an antique scavenger who enjoyed garage sales and thrift shops and then repurposing the junk to treasures. Her baking skills were extraordinaire and she loved to share her homemade goodies with others; being known for her butter horns and wild rice bread. Jilene was a kind and generous person who loved helping others.

Preceding her in death was her sister, Georgene Marana.

Jilene is survived by two daughters, Carmen (John) Rasmussen of Tallahassee, FL and Shannon (Stuart) Skrivanie of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; one son, Kristian (Jill) Myers of Remer, MN; her parents, Hugh and Laurel Perkins of Remer, MN; three sisters, Deb (Dean) Engen of Remer, MN, Lois (Jim) Huff of Blaine, MN and Paula (Kurt) Hemsworth of Remer, MN; one brother, Jeff (Shirley) Perkins of Remer, MN; and four grandchildren, Kelly and Kristen Rasmussen and Hannah and Meg Myers; and beloved pets, Tula, Rooney and Indy.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 1st starting at 1:00 P.M. until the 2:00 P.M. memorial service at the United Congregational Church in Remer, Minnesota. Pastor Bruce Pound will officiate.
