Jeanne Ann Smith

Jeanne Ann Weimer was born on November 12, 1928 in St. Paul, MN, daughter of William Joseph and Marion (Walschlager) Weimer. Jeanne grew up and was educated in St. Paul, graduating from Central High School. She was united in marriage with Roderic D. Smith on May 12, 1951 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in St. Paul. They made their home in Highland Park and Jeanne worked as an ER secretary at Midway Hospital for ten years. They enjoyed their lake place on Little Bass Lake near Remer and following Rod's retirement, they made it their year-around home.
Jeanne enjoyed feeding birds, and enjoyed all the wildlife at their lake home. She especially cared for her dogs (Scooter, Willie and Woody). Since retirement, she and Rod enjoyed golfing at the Ridgewood Golf Course at Longville, MN.
She is survived by her beloved husband: Rod (of over sixty years); her three daughters and one son: Sandy (Bruce) Edlund of Eden Prairie, MN, Debbie Smith of Zimmerman, Jan Smith of Zimmerman, and Michael (Jane) Smith of Maple Plain; two grandchildren: Colin and Mallory Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Marion Weimer and an infant daughter: Lynda Gail Smith (in 1957).
A Graveside Service will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, April 11th, 2012 at Assembly Area # 1, Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55450.[[In-content Ad]]
