Jane was born April 3rd, 1934 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Henry and Selma (Gustafson) Skadsberg. She attended Hiawatha Elementary and Edison High School where she graduated in 1952. After high school, Jane attended the University of Minnesota where she earned her LPN degree. She was extremely proud of that degree and practiced nursing at the University of Minnesota. Jane's experience brought her to work with the Deer River Clinic and eventually Remer Clinic where she and Charles Winans eventually settled to raise their family.
Jane's 23 years of clinical experience inspired members of the community. Most say she had a passion for people. She was someone who loved others and was able to carry a conversation with anyone. She was a caring person whose smile will be remembered by her community. Her passion was taking care of her family and community. She was a woman with spirit and spunk.
Jane was a great cook, especially goulash, salads, and hot dishes. As a Norwegian, Lutefisk was always served on Christmas Eve. She loved to go fishing with her husband and kids. She was active in a bowling league, loved to play cribbage and her piano, learned golf at age 65, served as a Cub Scout leader, a member of the Northland Lions, and with her husband, was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Remer.
Jane will be greatly missed by her daughter Lynn Taleb; sons, Tom Cobb (Heidi Holton), Lee (Kim) Winans, and Ron (Andrea) Winans; grandchildren, Andrew, Meghan, Matthew, Charlie, Cade, Bella, Justin and Ramine. Jane was preceded in death by her husband Charles Winans, son Michael Cobb, infant son Billy Cobb, sister Una Feigum and father and mother, Henry and Selma Skadsberg.
A funeral service for Jane will be held on Saturday, June 5th, at 10:00 am, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Remer, MN, with Pastor Dee Hillstrom officiating. A luncheon will follow the funeral service. A private family interment will take place at the Remer Cemetery. Services are being provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service of Walker, MN.[[In-content Ad]]
