James Vernon Morse

Jim was born November 24, 1923 in Bennett, Color., to James and Hazel Morse. He had eight brothers and sisters and was raised in several places.
Jim enlisted in the Army in May 1943, was a T5, served in Hawaii, and was honorably discharged Jan 1946. For most of his life, Jim was an auto mechanic working in Minneapolis. He married Emma Bluhm from Remer, on March 5, 1948, they resided in Minneapolis, and raised two sons and one daughter. When Jim retired in 1986, they moved to Trelipe Lake near Remer, where Jim was an active member of VFW Post 772, Longville, and served as Commander and Quarter-Master. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Remer. In 2010, they moved to Buffalo, MN.
Jim is preceded in death by his mother, father, and six siblings: Grant Morse, Lula Scher, Marvin Morse, Gladys Cadwell, Lorene Dunnell, and Eugene Morse.
Jim leaves behind his wife Emma, of Buffalo; two sons Barry Morse, of Paynesville, Minn., and Dan Morse, of Minneapolis; daughter Kim Myers, of Princeton, Minn.; brother Duane, of Stacy, Minn.; sister Margurite Groty, of Oceanside, Calif.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces, and many friends.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
