James Lee Voss, Jr.

Jim was born November 10, 1930 in Saint Paul, Minnesota to James and Stella (Stewart) Voss. He graduated from Johnson High School and then spent time living in Seattle, Washington prior to moving back to Minnesota. Jim was married to Marilyn Nylander on June 25, 1966 in Minneapolis, and they remained in the twin cities area. He worked a variety of jobs until they moved to Longville following his retirement in 1997. During his retirement years he enjoyed working at Northern Lights, fishing with Marilyn, and spent countless hours reading. Jim also had an artistic side with a special talent in architectural design. Most of all, family was very important to him and his grandchildren brought special delight to his life.
Jim is survived by his wife Marilyn, sons; Peter (Barb) Voss, David Voss, Steven Voss, grandchildren; Tyler, Trevor, Kevin, Jordan, siblings; Sara, Ronald, John, Bonnie (Don), Bruce, Barry (Marilyn), and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Rhodie, and stepbrother Wayne Stewart.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 2:00 at the Dennis Funeral Home in Longville with Father Francis Kabiru officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Longville. The Dennis Funeral Home of Longville assisted the family in making service arrangements.
