James Lee "Jim" Padgett, 83, of Remer passed away on January 17, 2019 in Grand Rapids, MN. Jim was born in Palm Roy Township, MN on January 15, 1936 to Helen and Charley Padgett.

Jim enjoyed his apple orchard and he considered cutting down trees the second love of his life, Jim enjoyed sports from playing softball, football, watching basketball (yelling at the ref's). He was also an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing walleye and sturgeon was a passion. Jim also enjoyed going to the Anchorage Inn.

Survived by his wife of 63 years Gwenn; children Kim (Andy) Lane, Randy (Betty Johnson) Padgett, Greg (Sue) Padgett, Kelly (Tim) Stenroos; grandchildren Ryan Giehler, Mandi (Justin) Payment, Brandon Miller, Colby Miller, Jordan Padgett, Linden (Kim) Padgett; step-grandchildren Rachel (Marcus) Barto, Tony (Ona) Lane, Greg (Lisa) Lane; 12 great-grandchildren; Sister Gladys as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded by parents Helen and Charley; brother Gerald "Bud" Padgett .

Visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2019 4-6 p.m. Carroll Funeral Home Deer River, MN

Services to be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 12:00 Noon Good News Bible Church Cohasset, MN
