JAMES "JIM" McNEIL, age 72, of Swatara, MN died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand Rapids, MN. Jim was born in 1939 to Ralph and Margie McNeil in Hill City, MN. He grew up and attended schools in Swatara and Grand Rapids before serving in the US Navy. Jim was united in marriage to Delpha Ehrlich on June 28, 1962 and they made their home in Swatara. Jim worked at Blandin Paper Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed farming along side his grandkids and raising horses. Jim loved to hunt and camp, but especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Jim was a member of the Northland Alliance Church in Remer, MN and a lifetime member of the North Star Draft Horse Association.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Gaylon; and brother, Fred.

Jim is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Delpha; six children, Jill (Ed) Quaas , Tiffany (Rich) Kingsley, Jay McNeil, Joel (Bobbi) McNeil, Brandon McNeil and Jeremy McNeil all of Swatara, MN; one brother, Skip (Nancy) McNeil of Pengilly, MN; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, June 15th from 12:00 Noon until the 1:00 PM Memorial Service at Northland Alliance Church in Remer. Rev. Bill Ness will officiate.
