Irene and Harold Miller were united in marriage on May 5, 1953. They lived in Minnetonka and raised four children. They retired to Longville on Lake Inguadona. Irene was a selfless and giving individual and a devout Catholic with an unshakable faith. She devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. She valued her many lasting friendships with others. Irene was a longtime member of St. Edward's Parish and served as a choir member, a lector, home bound minister, and was a member of the CCW. Irene was also a longtime member of the VFW Auxiliary and served as Chaplain.
Irene was an avid baker, gardener and excellent cook. She hosted many dinners for family and friends. She enjoyed canning, picking wild mushrooms, wild choke cherries and berries. She had fun watching bull riding. Irene enjoyed wildlife, especially feeding the birds, ducks, squirrels and deer. Irene loved her trips out West. She considered her home to be Longville, MN.
Irene was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Harold; daughter, Colleen Powers; parents Vernon and Mary Karnos; sister, Sylvia and brother, Dennis. She is survived by her sister, Yvonne Graczyk of Strasburg, ND ; son Mark (Cathy) of Eagan, MN, son Terance (Moolim) of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Cynthia of St. Louis Park, MN; son-in-law, William Powers of Eagan, MN; 4 grandchildren, Beth (Harley), Tim (Savannah), Amanda (Chase), Erik (Jackie); and 7 great grandchildren, Harrison, Henry, Will, Lucy, Max, Emma, and Sullivan.
Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. , Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 4905 Hwy 84, Longville, MN; Visitation at 1 a.m. with luncheon to follow Mass. Interment on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 3 p.m. at MN State Veterans Cemetery(Camp Ripley), 15550 Hwy 115, Little Falls.[[In-content Ad]]
