Howard Karon, 85, of Longville passed away on July 27, 2015 in Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, Crosby, MN. Howard was born on December 31, 1929 to Isadore and Eva (Horne) Karon. As a teenager he served as Water Front Director for three years at Council Camp. He graduated from West High School and the University of Minnesota. Howard served in the United States Air Force as a Captain during the Korean War. He retired after working 30 years with Ed Philips and Sons Co. as Executive Vice President. Howard was the past president of the Twin City Chapter of "City of Hope" and of "United Way Wholesale Beverage Division." His hobbies included fishing, especially for muskies, and reading. Howard will be missed by many friends for his good sense of humor and great conversation. He is preceded in death by his parents Isadore and Eva Karon. Howard is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 32 years Isabel Karon, sons: Douglas and Ronald Karon, step children; Brad (Heather) Cordes and Anne Klimek, grandchildren: Leslie (Vinnie) Tuminello, Mike, Adam, Ben, Sam, and Max Karon, Carter and Brock Klimek, Cooper and Max Cordes, great grandson: Sebastian Tuminello. A Tribute to Howard will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. at Ridgewood Golf Course, Longville, MN. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
