History matters

To the Editor,

By Dan Eikenberry, Executive Director, CCHS- | Comments: 0 | Leave a comment

The Cass County Historical Society (CCHS) is embarking on new programs to reach out to the citizens of Cass County. Our first project is the creation of a map showing historic sites in the county. Look for maps at area information centers and museums. We are also presenting monthly programs on county history. One will be in Remer, one in Pine River and the rest in Walker at the Museum. Watch your local paper or go to our website, www.casscountymuseum.org, for location, date and time. Another outreach is to our county schools. We offer to bring Museum artifacts into their Minnesota history classrooms so the students can have a hands-on experience with history.[[In-content Ad]]

In addition to our outreach, our Museum in Walker will be going through some changes. We will now be open on Saturday from 10-5. Also, our displays will gradually change so that we will have more temporary exhibits that will help us continue to tell the story of Cass County.

The Society invites you to become a member. You do not have to attend any meetings, bring cookies to an event, or be on a board or committee unless you want to. Being a member simply means you support our efforts to collect, preserve, display and present the history of Cass County.

To get a membership form, drop by the Museum, call (218) 547-7251, or send an email to [email protected].
