Hill City/Northland Storm fall to Ogilvie then crush Onamia
On the road at Ogilvie on Friday, Sept. 16, the Storm waited out a storm for two hours before the game was postponed due to poor field conditions. Returning Monday night, the Storm played a less-than-stellar performance, falling to Ogilvie 0-43 in a penalty and turnover plagued game. The Storm had trouble containing the Tigers 245 lb. fullback, leading to a 0-35 halftime score. The JV Storm would finish the game playing well, giving up only one score.
Friday, Sept. 23 the Storm played their first game on Hill City turf and returned to their winning ways as they dominated Onamia and earning redemption with a big win 60-8.
The game featured the return of Zain Meyer after missing the last two games with an injury. Brendan Gould opened the scoring with an 11 yard run and a Meyer reception from Cooper Kovall for the two point conversion. Onamia put their only points of the night on the board after the Storm forced a punt and the punt hit a Storm player deep in home territory.
The offense next took over and marched 65 yards topped by a Meyer 10-yard dash followed by the 2-point PAT.
The Storm offense blew open the game in the second quarter posting 32 points with two touchdowns by Meyer, and one each by Gould and Dane Sepin with a 58 yard run.
The Storm JV took over in the second half and added one more touchdown as Lane Gerber ran it in from 8 yards out and Vinny Rushmeier added the two point conversion. Rushmeier also intercepted a pass in the 4th quarter and the JV defense made a great goal-line stand stopping Onamia late in the game after they had a first and goal at the one-yard line.[[In-content Ad]]
