HERBERT "Herbie" PETER STUMPF, Jr., age 76, of Remer, Minnesota died Friday, September 3, 2010 at his home after a 35 year battle with cancer.

Herbie was born in 1934 to Herbert and Theresa Stumpf in Genola, Minnesota. He received his G.E.D. in Bemidji, Minnesota. Herbie served in the U.S. Army from 1957 until 1959. He was united in marriage to Judy Stumpf on June 12, 1965 in Walker, Minnesota. They moved to Remer in 1972. He was employed as a construction laborer for many years until his retirement in 1999 due to health issues. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, two brothers, and two grandchildren.

One son - Jim (Gayle) Large of Grand Rapids, Minnesota

Visitation will be Friday, September 10, 2010 from 12:00 Noon until the 1:00 P.M. Funeral Service in Harvest Church of God, Remer, Minnesota. Rev. Jay Pepin will officiate. Burial with military honors will be at Fairview Cemetery, Remer, Minnesota.
