Two years ago the Senior Center was in danger of closing. When it became known to the public, there was a great concern to keep the building open. There was an outpouring of support from the community.

A group of concerned citizens formed a committee, to work to keep the building open and vibrant. The results were so positive. a new set of by-laws were set up, a new board volunteered to serve for the next two years, and the name was changed to The Hub.

So many good things have happened in the past two years. It has added many new improvements to bring the building up to date. It has brought in new equipment, it offers pot lucks once a month with some very interesting speakers. The board has also introduced some new classes, held fund raisers, and brought many new ideas in. The Hub has had activities for large and smaller groups and provided a pleasant meeting place for members and for the community. The building is also rented out for different activities in the community, both large and small.

The time has come for a change in leadership. The present board is taking their leave at the end of their term, having served the hub to the best of their ability. The Hub will be looking for new leaders to take over. The community support was so positive two years ago that we know there is some leadership out there who would be willing to serve in the capacity of president, vice president, and treasurer for the next two years. These offices need to be filled in order for the hub to continue doing good things for the community.

Our annual meeting will be at The Hub on Thursday, May 3rd at 1 p.m. please plan to attend this important meeting.
