Grace Ann Parkhurst (nee Dovemuehle) age 77 of Lisle, IL. Survived by her husband of 56 years Edwin W. Parkhurst Jr. Loving mother of John (Shelley) Parkhurst, Janet (Chris) Luken, Jeanine (Dave) Lopez, Julie (Israel) Ramirez, and special mother of Francia (Jeff) Maras. Dearest grandmother of David (Kelsey ) Lopez, Alex Lopez, Nick Lopez, Abbie Lopez, Megan (Tommy Olson) Luken, Randy Luken, Jenny Luken, Chase Parkhurst, Reilly Parkhurst, Seth Ramirez, Ethan Ramirez, Kevin (Jill) Maras, and Ashley Maras. Fond sister of Marion (Ed) Bauman. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, the late Reverend Darwin Paul & Ruth Dovemuehle (nee Anderson).

Grace Ann and Edwin were married on July 6, 1963. Grace Ann was a long time resident of Lisle. She served on the HSO board for Lisle schools, Active in Booster club at Lisle High School, taught Sunday school at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Naperville for many years, where she was an active member since 1971, active in the Lisle/Naperville chapter of Infant Welfare Society of Chicago and served as their president. She loved to play her piano, travel, reading, crossword puzzles, and enjoyed going to watch her grandchildren play sports and perform theatre as well as her ladies lunches.

She enjoyed their 2nd home in Longville, MN where she served as Zone One director of the Long Lake Property Owners Association, was a member of the Red Hat Society and a long term member of Salem Lutheran Church in Longville, MN.

Grace Ann graduated from Carthage College in 1964, taught high school PE, then stayed home to raise four children and host six exchange students from abroad.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial tributes can be made to the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago, the Alzheimer's Association, or to a charity of your choice, in Grace Ann's name.
