On Jan 27, 1965, Gile and Beverly (Schuette) were married in Brook, IN. They were blessed with three children. Gile started his career at Honeywell in Minneapolis as a draftsman where he helped design the escape hatch on the Apollo and Mercury space capsules. He then moved to Rochester to work for IBM as a draftsman and engineer for 28 years. Gile was very active in the community where he served as president of the hockey association and coaching youth baseball. Gile continued his childhood love of the outdoors actively hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing and trapping. He was also an avid gardener, sharing all his produce with friends and family. He eventually retired to his "heaven on earth" on Girl Lake, where he continued with many outdoor activities and following his grandchildren through all their activities.
Gile was preceded in death by his parents, sister, LaVon and his daughter, Paige. Gile is survived by his wife, Beverly, children, Todd (Lana), Troy(Joan) and 3 granddaughters, Emily, Maya and Carly. In honor of him we will be planning a Celebration of Life open house gathering in Longville over the Labor Day weekend on Saturday afternoon at Gile's place from 1-3 p.m. Come share a sandwich and share a story. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please give to your own favorite cause.[[In-content Ad]]
