Getting to know the Longville Area Community Foundation
To the Editor,
For instance, at our monthly board meeting in February, we authorized grants to the Longville Area Food Shelf and to Camp Olson. As we award additional grants in the coming months, we'll keep you informed so you will see exactly how your donations stay "at home" to make the Longville area a better place for us all.
Where does this money come from? From your donations, your membership in the LACF, and your attendance at LACF fund-raising functions throughout the year. And from your contributions to our Endowment Fund, which through the end of 2013 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the MN Initiative Foundation and invested in a perpetual fund to provide a source of income to charitable causes in our community for many years to come.
The LACF directors come from many walks of life, but we all share the desire to help our community. I'm enjoying being part of the process where we combine our talents and experiences to help the Foundation achieve its goals.
Our contact information is available through the Longville Chamber of Commerce website, under "Community/Clubs".[[In-content Ad]]
