George Theodore Bjelland, 83, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019, at Serenity Living Solutions in Remer, Minnesota.

George was born in Nashwauk Township, Minnesota, on March 25, 1936, to Theodore and Anna Bjelland. He married Elaine Rigo in 1966. Over the years, George worked in the mines and later for the WKKQ Radio Station. On his retirement, George and Elaine spent 26 years in Texas where they enjoyed the weather and spending time together in their flower gardens. He loved woodworking, and he loved helping others.

George was preceded in death by his parents; his son Kevin; sisters Laura and Doreen; and brothers Clifford and Arthur. He is survived by his wife Elaine of Longville; daughter Peggy Irwin of Bemidji; stepson Dale Salmi of Motley; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; sisters Edith Frink of Red Wing and Dolly Johnson of Longville; and several nieces and nephews.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Dennis Funeral Home and Midwest Cremation Association of Walker.
