Genevieve M. Mergen, age 91, of Hill City, MN, formerly of Remer, MN, died Monday, January 19, 2015 at Chappy's Golden Shores Assisted Living in Hill City, MN. Genevieve was born in 1923 to Earl and Lillian Patterson in Remer, MN, where she also grew up and attended school. Genevieve was a homemaker who enjoyed fishing, music, and playing the guitar.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husbands, Joseph Mergen and Earl Maness.

Genevieve is survived by her sister, Lois Hutchings of Marquette, MI; and brother, Glenn (Helen) Patterson of Remer, MN; numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be Friday, January 23 from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Northland Alliance Church in Remer, MN. Rev. William A. Ness will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Remer, MN.

Arrangements are with Rowe Funeral Home and Crematory of Grand Rapids, MN.
