Gary Jay Neil, age 68, of Remer, MN, passed away peacefully Monday, June 25, 2018 at his home.

Gary served in the United States Navy from 1969-1971 as an Aviation Maintenance Administration Man Petty Officer 3rd Class and the Naval Reserve until 1974.

Gary was an avid golfer and outdoorsman. He loved spending time on the lake with friends and family. Gary was a handy guy, always having a project or three underway. Gary retired in 2006 from the telecommunications company he cofounded, Beacon Communications. He could be found most Saturday afternoons with his close friends, Gary DeGarmo, Gary Sauter, and Dave Ruppel enjoying a vodka tonic after a round of golf.

Preceded in death by his parents, Robert Neil and Lois Neil née Tallbot.

Survived by his wife, Tracy Neil, son, Josh Neil, sister, Bobbi (Curt) Huovie, niece, Heather (Bob) Heil, nephews, Chad (Brenna) Huovie and Blake (Aly) Huovie, step-sons, Travis (Kyleleen) Bartnick and Dustin (Regina) Bartnick, and step-grandchildren Stephanie & Simon.

There will be a private family internment.
