Gary was a jack-of-all trades, and could do anything. He worked many different jobs, including driving truck for many years. Gary and Diane drove through the United States many times, they both enjoyed traveling.
Gary loved to fish and hunt, and even during his retirement, after his back went out, he said if he had to crawl out to his deer stand, he would be there on opening and stay at his son Brian's for the full two weeks!
Gary also had a beautiful garden, and again because of his bad back, he had to tend to it on his hands and knees. He also enjoyed canning the vegetables he so painstakingly grew. Gary was an excellent cook and enjoyed frying his venison and walleye for his family and friends.
Gary had a wonderful sense of humor at times and truly loved Remer, his family and his wonderful friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and siblings, Ed, Leo and Julie.
Gary is survived by his wife of 24 years, Diane; two children, Brenda Snakenberg and Brian Snakenberg; and 8 grandchildren, Myah, Chris, Skylar, Coal, Mindy, Nicole, Daniel and Tanner; 4 step-children, Kelli Berg, Cindy (Dan) Sheedy, David (Melissa) Berg and Lori Watne; 21 step-grandchildren and many step-great grandchildren. He also leaves siblings, Frances (Ron) Williams, Larry (Sharon) Jewett and Lauri Hare.
Visitation will be Friday, January 22 from 4 p.m. until the 5 p.m. Memorial Service at the Congregational Church in Remer, MN. Rev. Bruce Pound will officiate.
