As newly elected president of the Longville Friends of the Library, I would like to introduce myself. My husband, Bob, and I have lived year round in the area for 29 years. You might know me from the library, Hackensack Co-op, Mule Lake Store or just a person from around town that looks familiar and you can't quite place.

The Friends is an organization that helps fund the Margaret Welsh Memorial Library. We host book and bake sales throughout the summer to help with book, audio and DVD purchases. We also help with the summer reading program for children and the adult reading program. We have helped purchase computers for public use and other materials.

We have a very resourceful library and with your help and donations, the Friends of the Lirary can continue our support to enhance the collection and programming at the Longville Library.

We had our first plant sale that was a success and probably will become an annual event. If you have any suggestions for fund raisers, please let us know.

Keep in mind that the library has volunteer spots open for the children's reading program on Thursdays and craft day on Fridays.

The library also has wi-fi, magazines, paper backs and newspapers available for those visiting our area.
