He died at his home in Hill City in the presence of his friends. Freddy spent most of his life in Hill City, graduated from Hill City High school. He was known and loved by many.
He was a trucker in his younger years, with trucking always having a special place in his heart. Horses and riding them was another of his loves.
Fred suffered a stroke at the age of 29, leaving him unable to do these things that he loved so much. Freddy was a familiar sight around town, as he rode his Rascal scooter about running his errands, and visiting friends.
Freddy is survived by his daughters, Melisa (Brian) Frank of Dickinson, ND., Selina Stonehouse of Surprise, AZ., 10 grandchildren, his sisters Judy (Edward) Pierce of Hill City, Frani (Dean Horbach) Hogate of Outing, Nancy (Keith) Austin, Warba, Peggy (Norm) Elton of Big Lake, AK., Pam (Doug) Voll of Watford City, ND., and Sharon (Ron) Brouwer of South Haven, MN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis (Putt) Fixmer, his mother, Arlene McNeil, and stepfather, Edgar McNeil, and his grandparents.
We know that Freddy is in heaven, riding his horse, with his faithful canine companion, Frank, running along side.
Freddy was a donor to Life Source, with his corneas, bones and tendons being a gift of life to several people. His body was donated to the University of Minnesota for the purpose of research and teaching, per his wishes. What a wonderful gift Freddy gave in his death. He will be missed.
A celebration of Freddy's life will be held at a later date.[[In-content Ad]]
