Do you know the face of hunger? Many in our own communities do. In 2010, there were more than three million food shelf visits statewide in Minnesota. It is estimated that the number of Minnesotans without enough food is now 14 percent.

Hunger is defined as "the physical and mental condition that comes from not eating enough food due to insufficient economic, family, or community resources. Hunger exists in families when members take turns eating or eat smaller meals to make food last longer."[[In-content Ad]]

Each year, the number of monthly visits to your local food shelves continually grows. Families and individuals are struggling. Due to your contributions and support, we are meeting that need.

The March FoodShare Campaign is where most of our local food shelves receive their operating dollars for the year. Due to this campaign, extra dollars are leveraged for each dollar and pound of food donated. The Feinstein Foundation also contributes extra dollars for donations made through March and April.

Every donation you make helps feed a hungry child, senior citizen, or neighbor. Please continue to support your local food shelf this month!
