Ernest was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Arthur and Mildred (Dickey) Cook. He joined the Army at a young age and married Marlene in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on October 2, 1957.
Bud worked at Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This job moved him to Minnesota where he lived in Coon Rapids. He retired from Dana Corp. as a Process Engineer.
Once Bud & Marlene retired, they moved up north to Longville where they built their house at the location of their longtime cabin on Blackwater Lake. They enjoyed going to Texas in the winter. Bud also enjoyed fishing, golfing, going to the casino, country music, and the occasional Jack Daniels or Budweiser with friends.
Bud will be greatly missed by his family, friends and "kitty baby" Mickey.
Preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Ann and his granddaughter Julie Smith-Branville. Survived by his 5 children: Ernest, Jr. (Tammy) Cook, Randy (Jocelyn) Cook, Brenda (Cliff) Smith, Deb (Dan) Stafford, and Gary (Jessica) Cook, sisters Katheryn (Carey) Crago and Diana Kuehner. Ernest had 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at Camp Ripley Chapel, Little Falls, MN on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. Worshipful Master, Jerry Oliver of Masonic Lodge #30, Anoka, MN will officiate. A prayer service will be led by Pastor Trish Jorgenson. Military honors and interment at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Camp Ripley, MN.
Fellowship and food will be at the Little Falls American Legion, 108 First Street NE, Little Falls, MN 56345.[[In-content Ad]]
