Emily Blood Drive nets 96 pints of blood
To the Editor,
Due to the winter months and the flu and cold season, many blood drives throughout the state have had difficulties in reaching their goal. This was the Emily Area Blood Drive 60th blood drives at this site in the past 25 years. The total overall number of pints collected at the Emily site has reached 5,553 pints.
All donors and the additional first time donors were greatly appreciated for taking their time to help the drive to be the success that it was. One-gallon pins were received by Tim Boyd, Deb Marty, Donald McCormick, Josh Rooker, Lisa Schweitzer, and Brenda Wood. Brian Foster, Will Jones, Darlene Peterson and Heidi Roettger earned their two gallon pins, while three gallon pins were awarded to Shirley Gronholm, Don Hodgman and Bonnie Johnson. Four gallon pins went to Joe Datzman and Susan Pusc. Douglas Greseth and Pat Schloesser were presented 5 gallon pins for their donation of 40 pints of blood. Frances Camacho and Grace Werner were awarded 6 gallon pins for the 48 pints that they each have donated over the past years.
Door prize gift certificates, donated by Robin Fish, Massage Therapist were won by Dennis Lamke, Kaye Camacho, Marg Moritz, Nichole Kesller, Stephanie Bright, Deb Marty and.
The Emily area bloodmobiles are sponsored by the Lakers Lions of Emily, Outing and Fifty Lakes. The next bloodmobile will be returning to Emily on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, from noon to 6:00 p.m. at the New Emily City Hal, formerly the Emily Charter School.
