Edmund "Slim" Whitebird
b. Dec. 11, 1935
Slim was raised in Ball Club. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He married Leota White and had six children. He was an active member of the Leech Lake Honor Guard and was a retired heavy equipment operator with the Local 49 IUOE for over 20 years. He loved to visit with his grandchildren and most of all he loved to shop for goodies for them. He also enjoyed the company of the Ball Club Elderly Nutrition Program and the Palace Red Cedar Grill.
He is survived by: Sons, Kenneth, Jeffery and Sidney Whitebird; daughters, Myrna and Dorcus Whitebird; sister, Delores Jenkins; brothers, Ernest, Tony, and Steve Bebeau; 17 Grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by: his son, Edmund Jr.; granddaughter, Ashley; his father, Simon Whitebird; mother, Tina Bebeau; and brothers, Francis and George Bebeau, and Joseph Whitebird
Service was held, Monday August 22, 2011. Burial was at Fort Snelling Cemetary, in Minneapolis, MN
Pall bearers were: Ryan Whitebird, Kenneth Whitebird, Jr., George Brown III, Joshua Brown, Alvin White, Jerry "Butchie" Bader, Phil Johnson and Arlen Wakefield. Honorary Pall bearers were the LL Honor Guard,
