Eagles top Carlton in redemption win
The Carlton game was tightly contested throughout, with the Eagles pulling off a 65-57 victory.
Coach Chris Carlson said, "this was a team that beat us by over 50 points last year, so to come out with a win shows the progress we are making as a program".
Cameron Wake lead the eagles with 18 points to go along with 10 rebounds. He was followed up by Alec Wake with 14, Kane Perkins with 12 and Harris Carlson with 11. Carson Johnson played a great floor game with six points, five rebounds, and six assists.
Thursday the Eagles traveled to Walker to face their toughest test of the year. Walker came in undefeated at 4-0 with a senior laden team. The Eagles kept the game close, with the score standing at 36-33 after a 3 point shot at the halftime buzzer by Cameron Wake. Early in the second half the Eagles managed to pull ahead 42-41, but in the end, the depth and athleticism of the Wolves coupled with foul trouble for Eagle's center Kane Perkins proved to be too much as Walker came away with an 82-63 victory.
"The boys came out and competed with a very solid Wolves team. If we continue to play at this level, we will surprise a few people," stated Coach Carlson.
The Eagles were once again led by Cameron Wake with 17 points and five rebounds. Alec Wake chipped in 15 points followed by Carlson with 12 and Johnson with nine.
The Eagle's (4-2) schedule doesn't get any easier with tough road games against Floodwood and perennial powerhouse Chisholm later this week.[[In-content Ad]]
