Eagles fall to Huskies
Playing once again without three injured players, the under-manned and under-sized Eagles hung with the Huskies for the first quarter of the game but could not keep up physically. A close game early a 13-10 deficit, quickly turned into a 24-13 lead for the Huskies at the 10:35 mark and at half stood at 55-21.
After the half, the Eagles could never threaten the lead and fell by the final score of 88-40.
"We shot around 29% from the field", Coach Carlson said about the offensive struggles. Commenting on when those injured players may be available, "It looks like a couple of our injured players may be ready to go as soon as our next game against Bigfork" (Tuesday, Jan 7).
With at least nine more games in January this squad is eagerly awaiting when all players will be available and can put a string of wins together. The boys have continued to play hard throughout their games, but it may be a case of each one trying to do a bit more than they can or need to individually. They still show at times when they move the ball around on offense and defensively play good "team" defense they can and will be successful.
