Eagles continue to struggle to put points on the board

The Northland Eagles hosted Onamia in a homecoming match-up hoping to get a mark in the win column for the '10 season. Despite a better offensive showing, the boys fell to the Panthers 68-16.

Continuing to lead the Eagle attack is Jordan Tabaka who scrambled for 50 yards on 17 carries along with 11 yards through the air, 85 yards in 5 touches on kick returns and a 21 yard touchdown carry. Jason Perkins ran in the two point conversion after Takaka's TD. Patrick Kemper returned a kick off 55 yards giving the Eagles good field position but the offense stalled resulting in a punt.

Kevin Murphy went 6 for 21 in the air and scrambled for another 11 yards. Trey Kelley was on the receiving end of 50 yards and scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Defensively Chris Scheidt led the Eagles with 11 tackles followed by Zach Philstrom with 8 stops and Kelley with 8 more and an interception on a 2 point conversion. Taylor Anderson had a fumble recovery to go with his 8 stops. Perkins had 6 tackles and Ben Kemper added 4.

The Eagles will be on the road this Friday against Northome in a 7 p.m. matchup.[[In-content Ad]]
