Douglas L. Olson, formerly of No. St. Paul, MN, died Monday, April 18, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN, at age 69. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon A. Olson, and parents Donald L. and Inez M. Olson. He is survived by his children Shannon (Bob) Johnson, Julie (Dan) Sanchez, and Eric (Joleen) Olson; grandchildren Elizabeth Johnson, Rebecca Johnson, Brandon Robinson and Alyssa Robinson; siblings Diann (Al) Laska, Darrell (Billie) Olson, Donna (Tracie Payne) Olson, Dawn (Roger Harries) Olson, many friends and extended family. He graduated from North St. Paul High School in 1959 and served in the US Navy from Aug. 3, 1959 to July 26, 1963 aboard the USS JOHN A. BOLE (DD755) and the USS MADDOX (DD731). He worked for 3M for over 30 years and spent his retirement years in Northern Central MN. A gathering of family and friends will be held in his honor on April 30 at the Dennis Funeral Home in Longville at 1:00 PM. Interment following at 3:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery in Longville, MN. with Military Honors.
